There are heterogeneous objects considered of value (sacred, secular, personal, collective) so much as to be transformed into a "collection". It is exhibited with the function of representation so that the personality and interests of the inhabitant are observed by visiting third parties, or to be enjoyed in the form of a private autobiography in a personal theater of memory between Giulio Camillo and Abi Warburg.

Si presenta una nuova antologia manoscritta di canzoni siciliane, conservata a Catania presso un privato e databile intorno al 1600, che contiene una cospicua sezione di più di cinquanta ‘ottave’ intestate a vari autori accanto a 349 'canzuni' in massima parte adespote. Il manoscritto fu donato da un certo Lelio, da identificare probabilmente con Lelio Pavese (ob. 1608), a Paolo Pozzobonelli (1572-1630), entrambi nobili savonesi. nel segmento finale del manoscritto si rinviene una pregevole serie di ventidue ottave encomiastiche e di prigionia attribuite ad Antonio Veneziano “carcerato” e indirizzate a Francesco Santapau, principe di Butera, tra il 1588 e il 1590: se ne dà l’edizione commen…

In this work are presented the excavation’s results of the cisterns of the Medieval Castle of Butera. The study of pottery and other objects retrieved in the cisterns and the study of the stratigraphic relationships with the walls which are above the cisterns, permit to establish when the cisterns were filled and permit a better definition oh the life’s phases of the court and of the Castle, involved in destructions and reconstructions during Medieval e post-medieval ages

The assemblage of glass artefacts, which is the subject of this contribution, has been retrieved from four cisterns (A, B, C, F) of the Medieval Castle of Butera. They are closed contexts, which were not manipulated by modern interventions, and permit a better defnition of the chronology of the glass objects through their association with ceramic material

Oltre quarant’anni fa Margherita De Simone sistematizzava le ville barocche palermitane in un abaco di forme e schemi tipologici e poneva a matrice del ciclo la bagherese villa Branciforti. Lungamente gravata da pregiudizi linguistici, giudicata idiomatica e vernacolare perché al di fuori delle accreditate linee guida del barocco italiano, ad impedirne la messa in valore, come per tanti brani di architettura del Seicento siciliano, sono stati l’assenza di studi documentati e di adeguati codici interpretativi.
